Hey. Welcome!

Hey. Welcome!

Welcome to my little slice of vintage internet heaven.

I'm Dree, and I started Estate Sale in a Box after years of sourcing and selling vintage + antiques on Etsy, Instagram, local markets, storefronts and more. I have always and forever been a collector, but when my daughter was born I started selling to make space ... which turned into selling for fun ... which, as with all hobbies pursued by chronic overachievers, tuned into selling as a business.

What I learned in the vintage vendor space was this: Sourcing is fun. It's shopping! The other stuff isn't. Listing? Photography? Pricing? Advertising? Shipping? Each one is its own beast. The amount of time spent on the backend with all of the gorgeous, beautiful home decor items was keeping me from going out and looking for new goods, and vice versa. It didn't make sense.

Fast-forward to 2024. I had seen other mystery boxes online and decided to make some available through my shop, calling it (even then!) an Estate Sale in a Box. I knew it was a fun idea to translate the experience of an estate sale to a digital world, but I didn't yet know just how fun. Before I knew it, boxes. Kept. Selling. Out.

The immense benefit of vintage mystery boxes from a vendor perspective is the amount of time and money saved on doing all the things I mentioned earlier: listing, photography, advertising and individual shipping + handling. Best part? Savings get passed on. This what keeps these boxes so inexpensive for buyers. Which is possibly my favorite part of this business ... it's uniquely accessible fun with a valuable outcome.

I say all of this to hopefully explain just a little bit about how Estate Sale in a Box works. It's a win for vendors, it's a win for buyers, it's a win for vintage + reclaimed goods looking for a new home.

We are still a very teeny, tiny business. Growing rapidly, but still so small. I've gathered a solid, amazing group of vendors to work with since Day 1 (the advantage to working in the industry prior to this friends!), but I am always looking for more. If you have any questions, comments, etc., shoot me an email. Yes, you're emailing a real person (with real feelings ...) but I would love your honest + constructive feedback as we continue to grow.

Most of all, thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting small, local and sustainable. You have no idea what kind of difference you are making. Or maybe you do :).

From the Antiki Bar in my Head,

Dree
